Congress Commemorates Patel's Contributions
On Friday, the Congress party paid tribute to Sardar Patel on his birth anniversary and remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party, along with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi, visited the memorial of Indira Gandhi to offer floral tributes. Kharge remarked that Patel resides in the hearts of many and his ideals are an integral part of the Congress ideology.

In a post on social media, Kharge expressed, 'On the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united the nation, I pay my respectful homage.' He noted that Jawaharlal Nehru referred to Patel as the 'founder of India's unity' and emphasized the celebration of his legacy across the country.
Indira Gandhi's 41st Death Anniversary Remembered
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also paid tribute to Indira Gandhi on the 41st anniversary of her assassination, highlighting her extraordinary patience, courage, and determination. He recalled her visit to the flood-affected areas of Bihar on August 13, 1977, which played a significant role in her political resurgence.
